1. Explain how you created your movie poster. What Illustrator tools did you use?
First I started by making the basic shapes that I would need. I made the toilet first with the pen tool, then made the black outline of the poster. Following that, I uploaded the screenshot from the film to illustrator and used the pen tool again to trace around the legs and shoes to get that shape. Once that was done, I added in the laces to the shoes and the seam of the pants using the paint brush tool. After that, I added in the movie title and director, ending with adding in the texture in the background as a final touch.
2. Explain how your movie poster represents the movie.
I would say that the poster I made represents the movie, as it takes the most iconic/recognizable scene from the film and turns it into a simple poster.
3. What is your favorite part of your poster?
My favorite part of the poster would have to be background texture, as it adds to the bleak tone the movie has, as well as looking great as a background.
4. What was the most challenging part of creating your poster?
By far the most challenging part of the poster was using the pen tool to trace the legs/shoes of the character. Prior to this, I was pretty bad at using the pen tool, so needless to say it was a challenge to get it correct.
5. What would you do differently?
If I could change something about my poster, I wish that I centered the toilet more, rather than having it off to the left. I also probably would have made it a bit bigger.
